The major\u00a0<span class=\"glossary-tooltip glossary-term-372925\" tabindex=\"0\"><span class=\"glossary-link\"><span class=\"glossary-underline\">hallmark<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0of this type of ring is the motif of two hands traditionally one female and the other male, clasped together. Known from the original Italian \u201cmani in fede\u201d (hands in faith and trust), this style of ring was popular during the Renaissance and given as a token of betrothal.<\/p>\n<p>This ring features the hands but also has a flower in the centre that has been claw set with five six rubies and an old mine cut\u00a0 diamond . This also send the message of love.\u00a0 It was made circa 1830-1850 and has been assayed in Birmingham.
