There is also fine engraving on the sides of his head.<\/p>\n<p>The long tongue clasp slides in to his mouth so when worn it appears that he is eating his tail. The ouroboros is an ancient symbol of a snake eating its own tail, representing the cycle of death and rebirth.<\/p>\n<p>The word \u201couroboros\u201d comes from a Greek word meaning \u201ctail-devourer\u201d.
