Around this fashion there grew a thriving trade in trinkets.\u00a0 This 15ct gold locket was made circa 1830 and features a hand enamelled mountain scene with a church and a person in the foreground.\u00a0 On the reverse is a hinged glazed locket that would originally have held a lock of hair. Swiss enamel is well known for its high quality and a special favourite for collectors.
