It has been set with two demantoid garnets, the most precious of the green garnet varieties. These stones were sourced in the Ural Mountains of Russia up until the 1920s. They have a beautiful, distinct apple green colour that is highly sought after. When first discovered, they were compared to <span class=\"glossary-tooltip glossary-term-373309\" tabindex=\"0\"><span class=\"glossary-link\"><span class=\"glossary-underline\">diamond<\/span><\/span><\/span> so the name was derived from the French \u201cdemant\u201d meaning diamond. This was because demantoids display high levels of brilliance and fire, much like diamonds. Framing the garnets are three oval shaped old European cut diamonds that amount to approximately 0.60 carats. Like many others in the carved half hoop style, this ring also features eight rose cut diamond &#8216;points&#8217; that have been set between the stones.
