Plique a jour is a difficult enamel process, that involves suspending the enamel between silver or gold cells so that it becomes translucent when held to the light.<br \/>\nThe front section slides across to reveal a mirror. The front depicts an enamelled diaphanous lady playing a violin, amid flowers.
