It has been enamelled with translucent blue enamel that shows the engraved silver beneath and a black enamel body. Andersen opened his shop in Oslo, Norway in 1876 specialising in jewellery and silver wares. He died in 1901 and his sons took over company operations and designs. Today, David-Andersen (the company\u2019s name since the early 20th century) is well known for its mid century enamelled silver jewellery. This brooch is a good example of the firm\u2019s work and is a lovely little jewel to wear.
