A good 18ct gold seal that was made circa 1840. The base has been set with a carnelian which is a hardstone. It has been finely engraved with a Cockerel intaglio. The name “Cockerel” first reached England following the Norman Conquest of 1066. The Cockerel family lived in Gloucestershire.
