It is a beautiful flowing design featuring a flower and two leaves that typified the Art Nouveau style. The flower has been set with an old mine cut diamond. In between is plique-\u00e0-jour green enamel. The term plique-\u00e0-jour (French for \u201cletting in daylight\u201d) is a vitreous enamelling technique where the enamel is applied in cells with no backing in the final product, so light can shine through the transparent or translucent enamel. It is in effect a miniature version of stained-glass and is considered very challenging technically.
