William IV 18ct Gold & Diamond Ring with an Amethyst Intaglio of a Crown

Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a rare ring that was made circa 1830-1840. It is 18ct gold and has an amethyst in the centre carved with a Ducal coronet intaglio. On either side is a square old mine cut diamond. The shank is a Gothick design that was in fashion at that time.

It would most likely have been worn on the pinky finger as it is a small size.
