Victorian Three Stone Diamond Rub Over Set Ring

321P
704 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A smart 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1880-1900. It has been set with three old mine cut diamonds that are a good evenly matched colour. There is a larger diamond in the centre and two smaller diamonds on either side. They are set in rub over settings. A rub over setting places the diamond in a circle of metal, which is then folded all around it to catch the hips of the gem at its widest point. It creates a secure setting which is a neat look because the diamonds are not claw set. It can be worn on its own or stacked with other rings. This ring can be resized, though please note there may be an additional charge to increase by more than three sizes.
