Victorian Silver Swallow & Ivy Leaf Brooch

658R
520 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A sweet silver brooch that was made in 1864. It features a swallow holding a sprig of ivy. The swallow was considered daring, risk-seeking, and a symbol of change for good in the future. It also meant “Everlasting love” and “loyalty” as swallows mate for life. The message of love is further accentuated by the sprig of ivy that symbolises “Cling to me”. What a lovely sentiment to pass on to someone that you love
