Turquoise represented the “Forget me not” flower and would have sent a sweet message of remembrance and love to the receiver. The reverse has a glazed locket which would have contained a lock of hair but can now be used to put a photograph inside. It has initials H.E.S below.
It is as appropriate today as a gift of love as it was in the Victorian period
