Victorian 9ct Gold Dearest Ring

134 P
923 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A charming 9ct gold ring that was made in Birmingham in 1886. The first letter of each gemstone spells “Dearest” Diamond, Emerald, Amethyst, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, Topaz. The Georgians and Victorians were very fond of sending secret messages to their loved ones and rings such as this one also spelt “Adore, Regard, Love” etc. It also has an added ruby for “true love” on either side of the cluster just to get the point over! The shank has fine engraved leaves on the shoulders. It would make a lovely gift.
