Victorian 9ct Gold Back & Front Horseshoe Locket

Written by Olly Gerrish

Horseshoes are traditionally considered to be lucky. Many different pieces of jewellery that featured horseshoes were made in the Victorian period. This locket is a typical example and is a double sided horseshoe design with engraved sides. It opens to reveal a glazed compartment for a photograph. It was made circa 1880 and is 9ct gold back and front. It looks great when worn on a medium length trace link chain.
