Victorian 18ct Gold & Topaz Ring

965P
Written by Olly Gerrish

An unusual 18ct gold ring that was made in 1891 in London. It has been claw set with a three carat topaz. Topaz is very sought after and quite a rare stone. It is quite different to a citrine. The name imperial topaz is said to have originated in 19th-century Russia, where the Ural Mountain mines were an important source of topaz reportedly reserved for the royal family. The warm orange of the stone goes beautifully with the colour of the gold. The claw settings give this ring a simple elegance and it looks wonderful when worn.

This ring can be resized, though please note there may be an additional charge to increase by more than three sizes.
