Victorian 18ct Gold, Seven Stone Old Mine Cut Diamond Ring

781S
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A good looking 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1860-1880. It has been claw set with seven old mine cut diamonds in 18ct yellow gold. Old mine cut diamonds have a beautiful appearance that dates back to an era when diamonds were cut and polished by hand. They have a softer look than modern diamonds, with large facets that produce unique fire. They often also have the beautiful imperfections that give antique diamonds so much character. It is a warm look, sits low and curves well around the finger. It will also stack well with a wedding band or an eternity ring.

Ollys Pick

Unusual that this ring has seven diamonds rather than the usual five diamonds.
