Victorian 18ct Gold Green & White Enamel Ring

94P
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

An unusual 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1860-1870 in the Holbeinesque period as it is known. Rings, pendants, brooches and earrings were made in the Renaissance Revival style, and once again became fashionable in the 1860s. The designs are extravagantly opulent with richness of form and colour which had appealed to the Tudor court in the 1500s and was rediscovered by Victorian jewellers and their patrons, reviving a fashion that flourished into the early 1900s. Here you have the rich green and white enamel within gold bars in a coiled design around the ring. This ring is a size U and cannot be resized.

Ollys Pick

This is quite a large ring so it would be suitable for a man as well as a woman
