Victorian 18ct Gold, Garnet, Emerald & Pearl Ring

401X
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A pretty 18ct gold ring that was assayed in Birmingham in 1872. It has been claw set with a large almandine garnet in the centre with two claw set pear shaped emeralds on either side and then a claw set natural split pearl. The garnet is a particularly lovely purplish pink colour and contrasts well with the emeralds and pearls. The sides of the ring have been hand applied with bobbles that extend up on to the top of the ring in an unusual design.

It would make an ideal dress ring.
