Victorian 18ct Gold, Five Stone Diamond Rub Over set Ring

488X
280 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a beautiful rub over ring made from 18ct gold and assayed in London in 1897.  It has been set with five well matched old mine cut diamonds that have an approximate total weight of 0.65 carats. Rub over settings help protect the stones from knocks and bumps but also from grease and dirt and the Victorians were particularly brilliant at making these settings.

It would be an amazing engagement or dress ring as not only does it look chic but is a practical ring to wear.
