Victorian 18ct Gold, Carved Onyx & Enamel Mourning Ring

575G
Written by Olly Gerrish

A lovely 18ct gold mourning ring that would be a good addition to a collection. It is very well made and quite heavy. The gold shank has been incised in a scrollwork pattern and then filled in with black enamel. The top is a carved banded onyx flower with four petals and a rose diamond in the centre. On the inside of the shank is inscribed Margaret Woodward Obt (died) 28th Dec 1863 Ae (aged) 78.
