It is composed of a black enamelled heart in the centre set with five rose diamonds with a smaller rose diamondA precious, lustrous gemstone made of highly compressed carbon. Diamonds are one of the hardest materials known to mankind. Colours of diamonds range from colourless, yellow, orange and brown to almost black. Natural coloured (or ‘fancy’) diamonds can be extremely rare. The cut, colour, clarity and carat weight of a diamond are the criteria jewellers use... in the centre. On either side are stylised black enamelled leaves. The reverse has a glazed locket section that contains woven hair. Engraved inside the shankThe circle of metal that attaches to the decorative part of a ring and encircles the finger. is “Eliz h (Elizabeth) Crofse Obt (died) Nov 3rd 1852 Aet (aged)71” A light and delicate looking ring that can be worn with care.
