Find Out MoreA really fine quality crescent moon brooch that was made circa 1880 when such brooches were in high demand. They symbolised “new beginnings” so they would have been given as a marriage gift or for the birth of a child. This crescent is more unusual than most crescents as it has been set with graduated rose diamonds and there is a floral motif within the curve that adds extra meaning. The back plate used to have a screw so it may well have been used as part of a tiara or a pendant when not being worn as a brooch. It can also be turned in to a necklace by adding a chain with loops on either side. it comes in the original Moroccan leather case with gold tooled detailing.
Unmarked, 15ct gold & silver
