Victorian 15ct Gold Oval Locket with Turquoise Blue Enamel & Natural Split Pearls

300R

Written by Olly Gerrish

An unusual late Victorian locket that was made circa 1860-1880. It is a lovely interwoven quilted design with natural split pearls at intervals and a larger natural pearl in the centre. It has been enamelled in a turquoise blue colour which was popular at the time and still looks great when worn with todays fashions. The use of turquoise blue enamel meant “Forget me not” after the flower of the same name. On the reverse is a compartment for a photograph. At present it has hair in it but this can easily be removed if wished. It is in good condition throughout
