Victorian 15ct Gold, Enamel & Natural Pearls Jubilee Bracelet

365P/PR
461 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A beautiful example of a Jubilee bracelet that has been highly decorated in red, green and white enamel. It is composed of four strawberry red enamel flowers within square mounts and each one set with a natural pearl. In between are lozenge shaped sections enamelled in white and green enamel. It was made circa 1897 when Queen Victoria’s diamond jubilee was celebrated. This type of enamelling was popular in the 1880s and 1890s. It has also been set with four natural pearls and is 15ct gold. It has a hidden clasp behind one of the flower sections. A very attractive and quite rare piece of jewellery.

This style reminds me of Pugin’s wonderful colourful church interior at Cheadle
