and white enamelA pigmented glass-like material used in powdered form and fused onto the metal surface of a piece of jewellery. necklace that was made in the 1940-1950 period by Elvic and Company. The design is eight repeated waves enamelled with translucent creamy white enamel with an undulating silver design beneath. The company was named after it’s founder Nils Elvik (1853-1935) Elvik & Co who were based in Oslo, Norway.
This necklace is typical of mid 20th century modern Scandinavian design and looks lovely when worn.
