Find Out MoreA beautiful 14ct58.5% pure gold (or 585 parts pure gold to 415 parts other metals) white and yellow gold brooch that was made in the 1950s in America . It is an interesting stylised design of two New Zealand double ferns that have been set with lovely moonstones with a strong blue glow, and graded rubies down the centre of the ferns and along the edges. The two ferns are held together with two little rows of diamonds. It is attributed to Alfred Philippe who designed jewels for Trifari. Trifari Jewellery was first known as Trifari and Trifari founded by Gustavo Trifari and his uncle in 1910. The company name changed to just Trifari after Gustavos uncle left. In 1917 Leo Krussman joined and then Carl Fishel in 1925. They renamed the Company Trifari, Krussman and Fishel. In the early 1930s Alfred Philippe joined as head designer. He is considered a top master craftsman in fine jewellery and also designed pieces for Cartier and Van Cleef and Arpels. His designs became very popular especially the well known designs known as fruit salad (also known as Tutti Frutti) jewellery.
