Mid 20th Century 18ct Gold & Platinum, Zircon & Diamond Cluster Ring

Written by Olly Gerrish

A lovely 18ct gold and platinum ring that was made circa 1950 and has been set with a zircon. It is an lovely stone that has an approximate weight of just over three carats. Zircons were used a lot during the early 20th century and are one of the oldest stones. They have been used in jewellery for over 2000 years and occur in an array of colours from yellow, green, red, reddish brown and blue hues. The zircon in this ring is an electric colour blue that contrasts well with the circle of diamonds around it. It would be a perfect engagement or dress ring.
