Mid 20th Century 14ct Gold Pear Shaped Old Mine Cut Diamond Ring

Written by Olly Gerrish

An unusual 14ct gold ring that was made after 1925 in Russia. It has been set with a pear shaped old mine cut diamond in the centre that weighs just under half a carat. It is a lovely pale fancy yellow colour. Around it are graduated old mine cut diamonds. The shoulders have a pretty scroll detail. It is still in the old style that I would date to 1900-1910 but Soviet Russia was slow to change and continued the pretty Art Nouveau designs. It is a large size but can easily be sized down.
