Georgian Green Paste Earrings

818X
506 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A pair of green paste earrings that were made circa 1800-1820. They were made to imitate emeralds as they were rare at that time so paste imitations were popular. They have been pinch collet set and foiled to the reverse to give greater translucency.

They have been adapted at a later date to a pair of earrings with 18ct gold backs and scroll and post fittings.
