Georgian Gold & Flat Cut Garnet Brooch

626P
525 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A really beautiful gold brooch that was made circa 1820. It is still in it’s original little round green leather and silk case with applied gilt decoration. It has been pinch set with a large round faceted red garnet in the centre with sixteen pear shaped flat cut almandine garnets around it. It was retailed by Parkes, jewellers to the King. They were based in Vigo Street and Regent Street, London. It has a later 9ct gold safety chain for added security.
