It gathered popularity in the 18th century onwards. This ring dates from around 1760-1780 and is composed of an openwork foliate clusterA group of small diamonds or colourful gemstones grouped together to form a cluster, mimicking the look of a larger gem. Often this group can surround a larger center stone. set with three flat cut pale rubies, three small diamonds and a peridotA variety of chrysolite. It is the gem of variety of olivine. The colour is generally a warm olive or yellowish green.
. It is silverA metallic element which is malleable and ductile, and white in colour, making it ideal for use in jewellery. It is usually mixed with copper to improve its hardness.
