Georgian 9ct Gold & Almandine Garnet Triple Drop Earrings

20T

Written by Olly Gerrish

A stunning pair of 9ct gold earrings that were made circa 1820. They are typical of the late Georgian period with the use of foil backed almandine garnets. These stones are a lovely purplish red colour and are deliberately cut in thin flat wedges and then placed on foil so that the light and colour comes through. Each diamond shaped top suspends three drops set with rectangular cut garnets terminating in diamond shaped garnets. A lovely unusual design that positively twinkles when worn. They are in wonderful original condition.
