Georgian 18ct Gold, Three Stone Emerald & Diamond Ring

521T
240 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

This 18ct gold ring was made around 1820 and is in such good condition. It has been bezel set with three emeralds in closed back settings. The centre emerald is a particularly lovely stone with good saturation. In between the emeralds are small old mine cut diamonds. Emeralds were prized stones in the early 1800s and were often imitated with green paste as a cheaper option, although such pieces are now sought after in their own right. The design is quite complex with a flared and reeded shank. A wonderful ring to wear as a dress ring.

This style of ring is so hard to find nowadays.
