Georgian 18ct Gold & Silver, Pear Shaped Emerald & Diamond Ring

225W
360 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a stunning late Georgian ring that was made circa 1820. It has been pinched collect set with a lovely pear shaped emerald in the centre and a further emerald on either side. In between are small old mine cut diamonds set in silver that contrast beautifully with the intense green of the emeralds. At that time emeralds were scarce, often paste was used in jewellery, so it is rare to come across Georgian rings set with emeralds and this ring is a lovely example. It would most likely have been a gift of love.
