They are open set vivid green coloured pastes (glass) that imitate emeralds as emeralds were a scarce commodity at that time. Many pieces of jewellery were made using different coloured paste and are sought after by collectors today. Georgian paste rivieres are a favourite of Vogue editor Dame Anna Wintour who often wears several at a time. This collar can also be worn as two bracelets as there are two hidden clasps.
