It has been set with a sardonyx carved through the white part to represent a ‘Forget me not” flower. The shouldersThe point on a ring where the central section meets the shank or band, often carved, decorated or inlaid with small diamond accent stones. have been enamelled with scrolls and lines around the shankThe circle of metal that attaches to the decorative part of a ring and encircles the finger.. On the reverse is a glazed locket with a lock of hair within. The reverse has been engraved “Thomas Waite Marson ob,28 may 1830 aet (aged) 64” A gentleman of some standing. I have looked up his will which was extensive but hard to decipher!
