Georgian 18ct Gold & Black Enamel Mourning Ring set with a Cushion Cut Diamond with Locket Inside the Shank

An unusual 18ct gold and black enamel mourning ring that was made in 1837 in London.  It has been claw set with an old cushion cut diamond that weighs just over three quarters of a carat. Inside the shank is a tiny glazed locket that would have held a lock of hair. Nowadays these early mourning rings can be worn as stylish dress rings. This ring cannot be sized.
