French St Esprit Silver & Paste Pendant

Written by Olly Gerrish

Saint Esprit translates as the Holy Ghost and is a dove shaped religious symbol. Popular in the late eighteenth century as a religious icon. These were particularly popular in France. This is a good example as it not only has white paste but coloured as well. The dove is holding the olive branch for peace in it’s beak. It is silver and was made circa 1820.
