French Early 20th Century 18ct Yellow & White Gold Dormeuse Earrings set with Diamonds

Written by Olly Gerrish

Sleeper or dormeuse earrings started out as single old mine, cushion cut or rose cut diamonds or coloured gemstones in a crown-style setting and were often worn to bed to keep the earlobe hole from closing. These earrings were made in France circa 1900-1910 and are part gold and silver. They have each been claw set with an old mine cut diamond with another claw set old mine cut diamond above. They have secure hinge back fittings and are wearable on an everyday basis and night time too if you fancy!
