Edwardian Shell Brooch set with Rose Diamonds & a Natural Pearl

976U
Written by Olly Gerrish

A pearl forms within a mollusk shell because of an irritant inside and is therefore seen as a symbol of turning something negative into something positive which is why pearls are often associated with good luck. So this charming brooch of a diamond set shell with a natural pearl within and a natural pearl and a diamond at either end would have originally been given as a good luck gift. It was made circa 1900-1910.
