Edwardian Platinum & Diamond Ring set with a Large Blue Zircon

710T
600 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

A lovely platinum ring that was made circa 1915 and has been set with a large zircon. It is an amazing stone that has an approximate weight of seven carats. It has been bezel set so it is a secure mount. Zircons were used a lot during the early 20th century and are one of the oldest stones. They have been used in jewellery for over 2000 years and occur in an array of colours from yellow, green, red, reddish brown and blue hues. The zircon in this ring is an electric colour blue that contrasts well with the pierced shoulders that have been set with small diamonds within millegrain detail. It would be a perfect dress ring.
