Butterfly brooches are always popular as they are not only decorative but have a lovely meaning. Butterflies express beauty and elegance and represent a long life. This brooch was made circa 1910-1920 and has been set with well matched sapphire and rubies with graduated rose diamonds and natural split pearls. It is a mixture of 15ct gold and silver. There is a hook to the reverse that you could hang something from.
