Edwardian 9ct Gold Oval Locket with Flower Motif set with garnets, Peridot & Natural Split Pearls

Written by Olly Gerrish

A pretty 9ct gold locket that was assayed in Chester in 1914 just at the outbreak of World War One. At that time lockets such as this example were often given as tokens of affection with compartments within for photographs. The locket has a lovely flower motif set with a peridot and garnets with natural split pearls set in to the leaves. The edge is a repousse flower design. It would look perfect on a medium length chain.
