Edwardian 18ct & Platinum, Openwork Diamond Cluster Ring

Written by Olly Gerrish

A very pretty ring that was made circa 1910. It is 18ct gold with a platinum top and is an unusual openwork cluster design set with graded diamonds. The use of platinum meant that in the early 1900s diamonds could be set in delicate cobweb designs unlike the silver settings that had been used in the Victorian period that looked quite different. It sits low on the finger so it is a practical ring to wear and would make a lovely engagement ring.
