Edwardian 18ct Gold Snake Ring set with a Sapphire & a Diamond

612T
280 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A beautiful 18ct gold double snake ring that was made circa 1900-1910. It is well modelled unlike some snake rings that we come across. In each of the snake’s heads is a diamond and a sapphire. The snake motif in antique jewellery represented “Eternal love and wisdom”, so pieces such as this ring would have been a gift from an admirer. It is as appropriate today to give to a loved one as it was in the early 1900s.
