Edwardian 18ct Gold Ring with Gemstones that Spell Adore

576T

Written by Olly Gerrish

Antique jewellery is fascinating as often it has hidden meanings that send a message to a loved one. This ring is no exception as each letter of the gemstones used spell “Adore”. Amethyst, Diamond, Opal, Ruby and Emerald. Acrostic jewellery as it is known was very popular from the Georgian period onwards. This is a particularly charming example that was made in Birmingham in 1906.
