Edwardian 18ct Gold Ring set with Topaz & Diamonds

235X
120 Admirers Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

An unusual 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1910-1920. It has been claw set with two well matched oval cut topaz with three small diamonds within millgrained platinum settings in between. Topaz is a very sought after and rare stone. It is quite different to a citrine. The name imperial topaz is said to have originated in 19th century Russia, where the Ural Mountain mines were an important source of topaz reportedly reserved for the royal family. The warm orange of the stone goes beautifully with the colour of the gold.

This ring is an elegant look when worn.
