Edwardian 18ct Gold & Platinum, Diamond Solitaire Ring

105W
480 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

This is a charming 18ct gold and diamond solitaire ring that was made circa 1910-1920. It has been set with an old mine cut diamond within a millgrained rub over setting. This type of setting is very safe as the diamond is held securely within the mount. The diamond has an approximate weight of three quarters of a carat and is a good clear bright white stone. The shank narrows as it meets the diamond giving the ring an elegant look. It sits low on the finger so it would be ideal as an engagement ring.
