Edwardian 18ct Gold, Opal & Diamond Carved Half Hoop Three Stone Ring

517U
400 Admirers
Written by Olly Gerrish

A beautiful 18ct gold ring that was made circa 1900. It is set with three well matched opals with a good strong harlequin play of colour. Play of colour is the optical affect seen in opals where they reflect a range of colours when light is shone on them. The best play of colour is where you can see a range of yellow-green, orange-red and blue as seen in this ring. The ring features rose cut diamond points in between the opals and at both ends. Opals are fragile stones so it is important to take care when wearing them.
