Edwardian 18ct Gold Cluster Ring set with Natural Split Pearls & Green Garnets

792U
Rare Find
Written by Olly Gerrish

In the early 1900s when this ring was made the fashions were lace and satin, ivory and pale blues and pink colours. The jewellery followed the look so necklaces, bracelets, brooches and rings had a certain delicacy and prettiness about them. Natural pearls were used a lot and as in this ring they were interspersed with apple green demantoid garnets that had been recently discovered in the Urals in Russia. It is a lovely example and was made in Birmingham in 1908.
